Keeping On Track
In the current situation (APRIL 2020) more people than ever are taking their recommended daily exercise in the countryside surrounding our two villages. It is important however to remember several points:-
- Please keep to the designated official public footpaths, you cannot walk wherever you choose.
- Please keep your dog on a lead
- You are not permitted to ride a cycle on a public footpath
- Where you may need to walk on the road please where practicable walk on the side facing oncoming traffic and in single file.
We are lucky in having many footpaths in our area so there really is no justification in not obeying these simple rules. If you are unsure of where the public footpaths are, under the footpaths subheading on this website the footpath networks for both Hintlesham and Chattisham are shown.
Should you find a broken or damaged sign or any other problem on your walks please report the problem to the Parish Councils Footpath Officer (details under Parish Councillors) or Suffolk County Councils Highways Reporting tool using the Public Rights of Way subheading This can be found on Suffolk County Councils website www.suffolk.gov.uk
Enjoy your walks and stay safe.
For the definitive guide to public footpaths in the villages, go to: PF Hintlesham or PF Chattisham . At present, they are in A1 and A2 format so not suitable for printing out, although this is being worked on.
