We need you!
Come and join our successful carpet bowls club. Our members range in age from twelve years to ninety. Come and give it a try.
Club nights are on Wednesdays at 7.30 pm at Hintlesham community hall. For more information, call Frank Wilkin on 652506 or Colin Tee for afternoon bowls on 652592. Hope to see you there.
In 2020 we celebrate 38 years as a carpet bowls club. Hintlesham & Chattisham is one of the founder clubs in Suffolk.
We bowl at the community hall. Club membership is £12.00 a year plus a weekly subscription of £2.00. The club meets on a Tuesday afternoon 2.00pm until 4.00pm and on a Wednesday evening 7.30pm until 10.00pm.
We have 18 members at the Tuesday afternoon session and as well as club bowls, we occasionally play friendly matches with other local village clubs. On Wednesday evening there are 22 members and the teams play in the East Suffolk League. We are currently in the second division and play matches throughout the season from September to May. Summer bowls are also played - contact Frank Wilkin for more information.

A Bowling Poem by Mark Jeffrey
In the depths of winter when there's nothing to do,
Why not stretch yourself and try something new?
For many years now, the bowls club have played
Some members move on, the majority have stayed.
They've played lots of teams in plenty of places
But now comes the time when we need some new faces.
We meet once a week for a few games each
For those who are new, we're willing to teach.
It's nice and relaxed with no pressure to win
So long as each person departs with a grin.
Come along to the hall and just have a go
No membership to sign, but before you know
You'll be hooked on a game that's enjoyed by many.
Reasons to not come? I can't think of any!
Free flowing tea and plenty of treats
Is what's on offer at our weekly meets.
So come to the hall and show that you're keen
Just give it a try; you'll see what we mean.
